I have used Google Docs for a while now, but CLEARLY, not to the fullest. In reading the article, I learned several new things that I wanted to note, to remind myself for later.
Two ways that I can use Google Docs in my library...
My biggest goal is to be in the classroom working with teachers and developing lessons. The collaboration tool in google docs will be helpful to write lessons together with teachers, but will also allow me to help in the grading of any assignments. And I am thinking that if I can work on grading with the teachers, that will open a door for me to collaborate with them!
I would also like to use the forms option more! I am always looking to increase my interaction with my students in the library! I took this class in part to learn how to use social media and technology and increase my interaction with students in the library. I feel that using technology to work with my students is critical because I do not see my students every day.
- I did not realize that you could easily publish your Google docs to the web. I work on our school webpage, and have my own webpage for the library, and being able to publish directly to the web is an AWESOME feature!
- I have always struggle with embedding videos in a powerpoint… now I can go straight to you tube and embed videos with no problem!
- I also did not know about the comment feature… that makes collaboration so much easier!
